Our Privacy Policy Notice
Protecting our customer’s privacy is important to us and our employees. We want you to understand what information we collect and how we use it. We will provide you with a notice of our “Privacy Policy” annually, as long as you maintain an ongoing account relationship with us. We reserve the right to change this policy at any time. Customers will be notified in advance of any change in the policies contained in this notice. This policy serves as a standard for all Horizon Bank employees for collection, use, retention and security of non-public personal information.
This is our privacy notice for our customers. When we use the words “you” and “your” we mean any consumer or customer who has a continuing relationship with us, such as a Deposit Account, Loan Account, Safe Deposit Box, or Self-Directed IRA where we act as a custodian.
If you decide to close your account or become an inactive customer, we will continue to adhere to these privacy policies and practices.
When we use the terms “We”, “Our”, and “Us”, we are referring to Horizon Bank.
The Information We Collect
We may collect “non-public personal information” about you from the following sources:
- Information we receive from you on applications or other loan and account forms, such as your name, address, telephone numbers, occupation, income, assets and other debt;
- Information about your transactions with us or others, such as your account balances, payment history, and amounts of transactions; and
- Information we receive from third parties or credit bureaus regarding their relationship with you or verifying representations made by you, such as your employment history, your property value or property insurance coverage.
“Non-Public” Personal Information is information about you that we obtain in connection with providing a financial product or service to you. It does not include information that is available from public sources, such as telephone directories or government records.
The Confidentiality, Security, and Integrity of Your Information
We restrict access to information about you to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect this information.
What Information We Disclose
We may disclose non-public personal information about you to the following types of Non-Affiliated third parties:
- Financial Service Providers such as an Investment Company
- Non-financial companies, such as companies under contract to perform services for us on our behalf, such as vendors who provide our data or transaction processing; computer software maintenance, insurance coverage or marketing services;
- Financial institutions with whom we have agreements with to jointly offer or endorse financial services or products, such as check vendors.
These parties must agree to adhere to similar privacy principles, and use the information only for the purposes provided. We do not disclose any non-public personal information about you to any other third parties, except as required by law.
Affiliates
Horizon Bank has no legal affiliated third parties, companies we own, or that we are owned by in part or whole, therefore we have no sharing with affiliates.
Joint Marketing/Service Provider Disclosure
We may disclose all of the information we collect, as described above to companies that perform marketing services on our behalf or to other financial institutions with which we have joint marketing agreements.
Notify us of Inaccurate Information we Report to Consumer Reporting Agencies
