While we hope you do not ever become a victim of Identity Theft, we want you to have this important information on what you should do if you become a victim.


What to do if you become a victim of identify theft:

  • File a police report
  • Notify all financial institutions where you have relationships
  • Notify credit bureau fraud units, place a fraud alert statement on your credit report and request bi-monthly copies of your credit report until your case is resolved (this is free to fraud victims)
  • Check the post office for an unauthorized change of address request
  • Report check theft to check verification companies
  • Keep copies of all correspondence related to the theft of your identify
